WING HIN MOTORSPORTS MOUNTS GT4 TITLE DEFENCE IN THE TSS THE SUPER SERIES AND A 4-CAR ASSAULT IN THE SUPER TOURING CLASS AT THE THAILAND SUPER SERIES

Malaysia’s Wing Hing Motorsports will start this weekend’s (21-24 May) TSS The Super Series and Thailand Super Series with the largest contingent of drivers, returning as defending champion in the GT4 Class and fielding four cars and eight drivers in the Super Touring Class.
In the GT4 Class, Wing Hin Motorsports will take to the grid as overall series defending champion with Mitchell Cheah again anchoring this year’s campaign, but with partner Naquib Azlan taking on a new role as the team’s driver engineer and driver coach.

Cheah will instead be joined by Hong Kong driver Ryan Wong in the winning #39 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, competing in the Pro-Am Class. Wong, who competed for Wing Hin Motorsports in last year’s Super Touring Class, is one of several drivers under the team’s Customer Racing Program introduced as a gateway for the rise of young Asian drivers.

From finishing 4th in GT4 in their debut in 2024 (despite missing four of the 10 races) to winning the overall title last year, Wing Hin Motorsports’ will be banking on the commendable record it had last year (three race wins, four 2nd places and two 3rd places) at this weekend’s opening race at the Chang International Circuit.

“After winning the championship in my Debut GT4 season, I am happy to be back once again to compete in Thailand but this time we’re moving from the silver/silver pairing of drivers to silver/bronze pairing. The preparations have been going well as we are of course to improve as we go, so naturally my target will be to defend and win a second consecutive title,” said Cheah. “It won’t be easy, but I’ll be sure to give my all as always in a field of competitive teams and drivers. This is a team sport and everyone has been working hard behind the scenes to get to where we are today and I have to thank Wing Hin Motorsports for the immense support.”
This year’s GT4 grid strength is expected to be made up of at least five Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, in addition to the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Mercecdes-AMG GT4, and Aston Martin Vantage.
In the Thailand Super Series Super Touring Class, Wing Hin Motorsports’ assault will be led by the #36 Toyota Vios of Nabil Azlan and CIMB-sponsored driver Amer Harris.
A second Toyota Vios, #9, and the first of three customer cars, will be piloted by Nick Teo and Ian Wong. While it will be Teo’s second season in the Thailand Super Series having competed with a Toyota Yaris last year, it will be baptism of fire for Ian Wong who is making his debut in what is undoubtedly the most competitive class in the series.

Two Toyota Yaris, #38 and #39, will also form a formidable challenge on the grid for the Malaysian team. The all-Malaysian line-up of Dannies Ng – who will be in his 9th year of racing with Wing Hin Motorsports – and 2025 Vios Challenge Sporting Class champion Jwan Hii (making his debut in Thailand) will pilot the #38 Yaris.

The #39 Yaris meanwhile, will pair Thailand’s Varunchit Wattanathanakun (Monai) with Lady driver Mekkaradkeeta Kalantananda (Ni-Ne). Wattanathanakun had partnered Teo in 2025 to finish 7th overall and both drivers are also competing in the Toyota Malaysia 2026 Vios Gold Challenge and Vios Classic Challenge.

TSS The Super Series and the Thailand Super Series will consist of five rounds which kicks off this weekend at the Chang International Circuit in Burriram. Round 2 will be from 1-5 July at the Bangsaen Grand Prix international street racing festival in Chonburi before Rounds 3 and 4 visits the Petronas Sepang International Circuit from 21-23 August and 18-20 September respectively, and the finale returning to the Chang International Circuit from 30 Oct-1 Nov.
