Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces the all-new AMG performance SUVs: The AMG G63, the AMG GLC63 S 4MATIC and the GLC63 S Coupe 4MATIC. The 2018 models are faster, sportier, more powerful and better looking than ever.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG G63

In 1979, Mercedes-Benz introduced the first generation G-Class and today after four decades, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveils the new generation AMG G63 in Sepang International Circuit. The legendary G-Class keeps its original outer shape and lines but has a completely redesigned interior, new engine and a whole bunch of technology that comes with it.

This G class which stands for Gelaendewagen, is perhaps one of the best all-purpose vehicle, keeping the same personality, trait and character of its predecessors. This new generation G63 AMG redefined ruggedness with luxury.

The technology that comes with this almost 1.5 million Ringgit purpose build off-road vehicle include driving assistance, Burmester Surround Sound System, Parking assist and KEYLESS GO, a SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine churning out 585 horses with a torque of 850Nm. This seemingly heavy weight beast however performs the zero to hundred sprint in an amazing 4.5 Seconds.

The AMG G63 offers 5 driving modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. For off-road driving, the driver can select among three modes: Sand, Rock and Trail. There is no doubt the legendary G63 AMG can take you almost anywhere. Suited for both the urban professional as well as the “Indiana Jones” adventure seeker.

There couldn’t have been a better place than Sepang International Circuit to launch the all-new Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC and the AMG GLC 63 S Coupe 4MATIC which according to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia are “The Ultimate Performance Athletes”.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia reveals today these two beautifully crafted machines. With beauty comes power as this pair of performance athletes are powered by the versatile and emotive AMG-engineered 4.0-litre biturbo V8 power plant, good for 510 hp with 700 Nm and a segment-leading 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds. So who says SUV are boring and slow?

These compact luxury SUVs are faster on a straight line that most sedan cars you see on road today. In fact, it is faster than the Mercedes-Benz GTR flagship on Century sprint clock. Now isn’t that absolutely impressive?

With a 9 speed automatic transmission, it claimed to be able to hit a top speed of 270km/h. Now if only we can get our hands on one to verify and confirm that claim. The AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC gives its driver the choice between four dynamic driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. Note that the Sport+ mode is simply equivalent to Race mode. Perfect for those heavy footed on the throttle pedal.

A striking characteristic of the exterior design is the expressive front end: the new GLC 63 4MATIC+ is the first Mercedes-AMG Performance vehicle to feature the Panamericana grille, which was previously reserved for the AMG GT family of sports cars.
