TQ WULING DRIVES SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MOBILITY WITH ALL-NEW PORTA EV

TQ WULING yesterday launched the All-New TQ WULING Porta EV, a fully electric panel van developed for Malaysian businesses seeking a practical, cost-efficient and lower-emission solution for daily commercial transport.

Available in 300km and 400km CLTC-rated variants, the Porta EV extends TQ WULING’s electric vehicle (EV) line-up into the commercial mobility segment, targeting large fleet operators, multinational corporations, logistics providers, retailers, service businesses and small and medium-sized businesses across Malaysia.

The new Porta EV combines a spacious cargo area, competitive payload capacity, fast-charging capability and purpose-developed electric powertrain technology, while offering businesses the potential to reduce vehicle running and maintenance costs over the vehicle’s operating life.

Built For the Business Day

Designed as a full-size panel van, the Porta EV measures 5,010 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width 1,975 mm in height for the 400km variant and 1,960 mm for the 300km variant, both with a 3,050 mm wheelbase.

Its cargo compartment measures 2,830 mm long, 1,680 mm wide and 1,365 mm high, providing up to 6.5 cubic metres of cargo capacity for a broad range of delivery, logistics and commercial applications.

The Porta EV is engineered around ease of loading and efficient goods handling with key features including:

• Up to 1,105 kg maximum payload on the 400km variant
• 777 mm-wide dual sliding side doors
• 270-degree opening rear barn doors
• 595 mm loading height
• 83% ultra-high-strength steel monocoque body

The wide rear barn doors allow the cargo area to be accessed directly by forklift and is able to accommodate a standard pallet size of 1,100 × 1,100 mm with the rear door opening size of 1,366 mm, while the low loading height of 595 mm helps reduce the effort required for loading and unloading goods during daily operations.

 

Efficient Electric Powertrain

The TQ WULING Porta EV is powered by a high-efficiency 75kW silicon-carbide (SiC) electric motor producing 180 Nm of torque, delivering immediate response and low-speed torque characteristics suited to stop-start urban and commercial driving.

Power is supplied by WULING’s MAGIC EV Battery technology, which has been developed with a focus on structural integrity, thermal protection and durability.

The battery has undergone a series of safety tests covering high-temperature exposure, puncture, impact, vibration and water immersion. Its multifunctional unitised structural design increases battery structural strength by more than 60%, while its modular construction enables individual battery cells to be serviced or replaced when required. This design can reduce battery repair and maintenance costs by up to 90% over the vehicle’s lifecycle.

WULING’s MAGIC Battery technology is currently deployed in more than 3 million new-energy vehicles globally, with no reported incidents of battery fire or explosion across its fleet.

On charging, the Porta EV supports AC charging for overnight charging at business premises and DC fast charging for top-ups during the working day.

The combination of DC fast charging and AC charging allows businesses to incorporate charging into a variety of operating environments, from commercial premises and depots to overnight charging at dedicated facilities.

Recognising that commercial vehicles spend long hours on the road, the Porta EV combines structural protection with a range of active and passive safety equipment, including:

The driver-focused cabin features a 3.5-inch TFT instrument display, four-way adjustable seats, electronically adjustable air conditioning, and an 8-inch infotainment head unit with Bluetooth, MP3, and USB connectivity.

Lower Running Costs, Greater Fleet Efficiency

For commercial operators, the purchase price is only part of the equation. What matters just as much is total operating costs.

The Porta EV has been built to reduce the ongoing costs associated with maintaining a commercial vehicle. Scheduled servicing is required every six months or 10,000km, whichever comes first, with servicing costs of less than RM2,000 over five years.

This represents potential savings of over 65% compared with conventional diesel vans, helping businesses manage long-term fleet operating expenditure.

The Porta EV’s service intervals are scheduled every six months or 10,000 km (whichever comes first). For operators running multiple vehicles, the lower routine maintenance interval can also support a more effective fleet planning and vehicle utilisation.

Comprehensive Warranty and Nationwide Aftersales Support

To provide businesses with greater confidence in long-term fleet operation, the TQ WULING Porta EV is supported by comprehensive warranty coverage, including:

• Vehicle: 5 years or 120,000 km**
• Drive motor, EV battery and BMS: 5 years or 200,000 km**
• EV battery cells: 6 years or 300,000 km**

Aftersales support is provided through the Tan Chong Ekspress Auto Servis (TCEAS) network, with 28 service centres nationwide trained to service TQ WULING vehicles.

The network covers key locations across the Central, Northern, Southern and East Coast regions of Peninsular Malaysia, as well as East Malaysia.  This nationwide coverage is intended to support vehicle uptime and provide convenient maintenance access for businesses operating across multiple locations.
