Ahead of the official Jerez Moto2™ Test next week, PETRONAS Sprinta Racing have enjoyed a successful two days of private testing at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, with riders Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon racking up 282 laps between them over both days.
Graced with good weather at the Spanish circuit, Vierge was able to focus on testing a variety of parts from Kalex to further refine the chassis of his Triumph-powered machine. Xavi was able to complete 64 laps yesterday with a best time of 1 min 42.080 secs, while today saw the Spaniard improve on that time with a 1 min 41.721 secs best time from 67 laps.
For team-mate Dixon, the private test provided the Brit with a chance to further adapt his riding style to the Kalex package, which is new to him this year. Making sure to get as many kilometers under his belt as possible, Jake was among the riders who completed the most laps yesterday (82) before adding another 69 to that total today. At the end of today his best lap time was a 1 min 42.174 secs.
In just under one week PETRONAS Sprinta Racing will be back at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto for the first official Moto2 pre-season test of 2020, which will take place over three days (19-21 February).
