Volvo Car Malaysia announced an all-new version of the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric and its XC40 series with model year 2023 (MY23).
The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is the first electric vehicle introduced by Volvo Car Malaysia back in March 2022. The response for the electric vehicle was overwhelming, receiving over 400 orders within the first two months, with all units delivered by June 2022. The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric was also the first Volvo car model that was made available for bookings online.
The first-ever locally assembled pure electric vehicle is stylish and powerful. Customers can experience the comfort of smooth acceleration with zero tailpipe emissions, driving towards a sustainable and safer future.
The new model year 2023 XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is priced at RM278,888** and is available with new features as follows:
- New exterior colour ‘FJORD BLUE’;
- Remote Air Purifier PM2.5 pre-cleaning;
- Updated front and rim designs;
- Charcoal Connect Suede textile interiors;
- Updated Foot Movement Detection Module (FMDM);
- New gear lever sculpted with leather-free charcoal gear shift.

The model year 2023 updates are also available to the XC40 Recharge T5 Ultimate (Plug-in Hybrid) and XC40 B5 Ultimate (Mild Hybrid) with both priced at RM268,888**. They will also receive a facelift to their design which includes a Dynamic Chassis change.
The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric recently won the award of ‘Best Small Electric SUV’ at the CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards 2022 and was also recognised as the first locally assembled electric vehicle with the ‘Special Recognition Award’. These cars are also exported to neighbouring ASEAN countries.

The MY23 XC40 models will be available in six colour options – Black Stone, Crystal White, Sage Green, Silver Dawn, Thunder Grey and the latest colour Fjord Blue.
