The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé & AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia yesterday introduced the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé and the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé. . As the sporty sibling of the GLC SUV, it rounds off the best-selling Mercedes-Benz range of vehicles.

Exterior highlights
The GLC Coupé combines sporty performance with high efficiency. The vehicle is a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and an integrated starter-generator for an extra boost and energy recuperation. Off the road, the Coupé scores with numerous features such as 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The off-road screen and the “transparent bonnet” as an element of the 360° camera enhance the comfort of the driving experience. This allows drivers to maneuver confidently and safely around obstacles.
The defining feature of the all-new GLC Coupé is its sporty silhouette. It is immediately recognisable as a member of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family with the iconic Mercedes-Benz pattern on the radiator grille. The dramatic surfaces continue to define the exterior design. It is enhanced with precisely moulded edges that accentuate the proportions and the muscular wheel arches. They also strike a balance between elegance and power.
The AMG Line with Chrome package features 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and wheel arch liners in the vehicle colour. The brake system with enlarged and perforated brake discs on the front axle always packs a powerful punch, even after several heavy braking manoeuvres. In addition, the perforation together with the “Mercedes-Benz” lettering emphasises the sporty design. With the panoramic sliding sunroof, the vehicle looks particularly exclusive while providing passengers ample lighting in the interior. The aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs underline the off-road capability of the GLC Coupé and makes getting in and out of the vehicle easier.
Accentuating the width of the vehicle are the two-part tail lights with black-coloured and dark red connecting elements, closed off below by the simulated chrome underguard. The all-new GLC Coupé is equipped with DIGITAL LIGHT. The light is created by a matrix of LEDs in the headlight unit that can be individually controlled. This permits a targeted and dynamic distribution and control of light in response to conditions. The result is excellent visibility for the driver without impairing that of other road users. With Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, drivers drive with continuous high beam without dazzling others. The intelligent system excludes oncoming traffic or vehicles in front with highly precise LEDs.
As with all Mercedes-Benz models, safety is vital as such the all-new GLC Coupé comes with PRE-SAFE® system, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist. GUARD 360° vehicle protection offers all-round monitoring of the vehicle’s surroundings – for example with the break-in and anti-theft alarm system with tow-away protection. The Parking Package with 360° camera and Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC turn the challenge of tight parking spaces into confident composure. Drivers can park effortlessly thanks to dynamic visualisation and audible feedback – or have the vehicle parked with assisted parking.
Interior highlights
The interior of the all-new GLC Coupé is equipped with the sporty AMG Line interior featuring multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather and instrument panel and beltlines in ARTICO man-made leather in nappa look. The dashboard is clearly structured. The upper section has a wing-like profile with new, flattened vent outlets. The lower section has a generous trim area that flows seamlessly into the curved centre console. The 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD screen in front of the driver appears to float freely above the wing profile and trim surface. The 11.9-inch central display rises from the centre console and likewise appears to float above the trim surface. Like the dashboard, the screen surface is slightly angled towards the driver.
The all-new GLC Coupé includes metal structure trim element and centre console in metal-structure finish elevating the interior even further. The seat design with ARTICO man-made leather upholstery plays with layers and contoured surfaces, lending them visual lightness. For an added level of comfort, the vehicle comes with KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package, Boot Comfort Package, THERMATIC automatic climate control, and EASY-PACK tailgate.
The high standards of the all-new GLC Coupé are evident in every detail. The hardware and software of the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system offer even better user friendliness. Brilliant images in the driver and central display make it easy to control vehicle and comfort functions. The two LCD screens present clear and structured information. The full-screen navigation gives the driver the best possible route guidance.
The MBUX Augmented Reality for navigation uses a camera to register the surroundings in front of the vehicle. The central display shows the moving images and also superimposes virtual objects, information and markers. These include traffic signs, directional arrows, lane-change recommendations and house numbers.
This makes navigation much easier, especially in urban areas. Experience greater audio performance with exquisite Burmester® sound. The high-quality speakers achieve impressive surround sound.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé is upgrading its successful GLE Coupé model making its exterior and interior sportier than ever.

The basis for the sporty driving experience in the GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé is provided by the 320 kW (435 hp) 3.0 litre inline six cylinder engine with Twin-scroll turbocharger. With the help of a software update and a larger turbocharger, the AMG development department increased the maximum torque from 520 Nm to 560 Nm. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is also more dynamic at 5.0 seconds (previously 5.3 seconds). The engine is electrified by means of an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a 48 volt electrical system. The ISG combines starter and alternator in one powerful electric motor and is installed between the engine and the transmission. Thanks to the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, rolling movements are kept to a minimum and passengers enjoy excellent driving comfort.
Exterior
The new AMG GLE combines sportiness with a high level of everyday practicality. The exterior exudes more hallmark AMG class than ever. From the front, it can be recognised by the newly designed daytime running lights. The new AMG GLE comes equipped with Multibeam LED headlamps providing excellent levels of light and visibility. The vehicle also gets a revised front apron with expressively shaped side air intakes in jet-wing design. The radiator grille in AMG design and the AMG emblem on the bonnet, a feature used for the first time in this model range, show at first glance what power lies under the bonnet. Thanks to this powerful appearance, it moves visually closer to the eight-cylinder models. The rear features revised LED tail lamps and a two-pipe exhaust system. In addition, the AMG spoiler lip makes a strong visual statement and improves driving characteristics at high speeds.
The new 22-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels and aluminium-look, illuminated running boards with rubber studs, and panoramic sliding sunroof featured on the new AMG GLE adds to the sporty look of the exterior. With the AMG Night package, selected exterior elements are finished in high-gloss black including the front splitter as well as the trim strips in the front and rear aprons, the window surrounds and the painted exterior mirror housings. The driver and front passenger are greeted to the Ambient lighting with animated projection of the AMG logo when the doors are open.
Interior
The new AMG GLE also demonstrates its dynamic character in the interior. The first eye-catching feature when entering is the new angular air vents with chrome louvres familiar from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Dashboard and door beltlines in ARTICO man-made leather paired with AMG carbon-fibre trim underscore the high quality of the interior. The surfaces look particularly classy and are further enhanced by the topstitching. The new AMG GLE comes with multicontour front seats and AMG nappa leather black upholstery. The AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather with AMG steering wheel buttons makes it easier for drivers to keep their eyes on the road at all times.
The head-up display shows important information on the windscreen, keeping the driver’s eyes attentively on the road ahead. The sound experience of the Burmester® 3D surround sound system can now be customised according to personal preferences with sound personalisation, delivering an even more pronounced surround sound. THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control supplies 4 climate zones enabling an individual feel-good climate on board. The driver and front passenger are able to set the temperature and air distribution to suit their personal needs. The temperature-controlled cup holder in the centre console cool or warm drinks for the driver and front passenger. For an added level of comfort, there are 2 USB ports in the rear providing passengers with peace of mind while on the go.
The vehicle comes with a widescreen cockpit featuring 2 fully digital colour displays, each with a diagonal 12.3-inch screen. The MBUX Interior Assistant is an innovative system which detects and interprets the driver’s and front passenger’s hand and arm movements. This means they can activate selected functions instantly. To enable drivers to find their way in complex traffic situations, MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation connects the virtual world with the real world. With safety in mind, the new AMG GLE is equipped with Driving Assistance Package Plus comprising of features such as
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Extended automatic Re-start in traffic jams, Exit warning function, Active Steering Assist, and PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side. In addition to that, Sidebags in rear, Parking Package with 360-degree camera, and GUARD 360 ° Vehicle protection are also present.
