Suzuki Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., in collaboration with the Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA), officially launched the AMI-Suzuki 2025 Road Safety Campaign today at Dataran Ilmu, Stadium Selayang. The event was officiated by the Honourable Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah, Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia, alongside distinguished guests.
This year’s campaign, themed “Share the Road, Ride with Courtesy”, marks the second edition by Suzuki Malaysia and the eighth edition by AFY Mobility Industries (AMI). The campaign aims to raise awareness about road safety among motorcycle riders, drivers, and the general public.
Statement From The Deputy Minister Of Transport
In his speech, the Honourable Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah highlighted alarming road accident statistics:
“Based on the latest statistics from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), 5,939 fatalities were recorded out of 585,729 accidents reported as of November 2024. Of these, a staggering 67% or 4,014 fatalities involved motorcyclists and pillion riders, with the majority being youths aged 16 to 35. This group has become the largest contributor to road accident deaths.”
The Deputy Minister also stressed the importance of proper licensing for motorcyclists:
“I would like to draw everyone’s attention to the critical need for possessing a valid driving license before being allowed to ride motorcycles on public roads. This fundamental step is essential in ensuring road safety for all.”
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment through its safety and enforcement agencies under the Ministry of Transport to address these challenges and improve road safety.

- Free motorcycle inspections – 16-point checks conducted by Suzuki Malaysia’s
skilled mechanics.
- Exchange of new helmets for
- Distribution of children’s helmets to promote safety for young
- Exhibitions showcasing motorcycles and safety
Dato’ Jeffrey Lim, Group Managing Director of Suzuki Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., emphasized in his speech that Suzuki Malaysia is committed to supporting road safety initiatives to ensure the well-being of the community.
