Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is delighted to announce Yokohama as the Official Tire Partner and BHPetrol as the Official Fuel Partner for the 13th edition of the Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race (S1K) 2021.
The wait is over as the hottest endurance 9-hours race is back in town scheduled on 26 – 27 November 2021.
Based on the race program, the Free Practice and Qualifying Sessions will be on Friday while the race will be flagged off on Saturday from 11:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm with a total of 181 laps.
In 2019, S1K recorded the highest entry with more than 70 entries competing in two different classes; M Production class and S Production class. Forming one of the biggest line-ups on- grid ever since it was introduced back in 2009.
Some changes for this year edition, there will be no support races and entries from foreign countries due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Flashback from the previous S1K, the winners for the M Production category are Mitchell Cheah and Farique Haruman from Proton R3 Motorsports. Runner-up, Admi Shahrul and Syafiq Ali from Proton R3 Motorsports and third place, Mohamed Farriz Mohamed Fauzy and Aaron Lim Say Joon from Honda Malaysia Racing Team.
Drivers from DNT Tune, Najiy Ayyad Abdul Razak, Ahmad Faizry Mohamed and Juzaili Jasmay are the winners for the S Production category. Japanese drivers Takashi Oi, Takashi Ito and local William Chong from RiyozRacing in second place while Ady Rahimy and Hayden Haikal finished the race in third place.
