Registration is now opened for parents to live their dreams of watching their young sons and daughters competing in SIC X30 National Karting Series Rookies Cup 2019 on full sponsorship under SIC Talent Development programme.
Seats are opened for 10 children aged between 8 and 12 years old to compete in the three-round championship, which in turn could open the door for bigger opportunities under the innovative programme that has provided support for talented Malaysians to compete in leading international series on four-wheel racing.
Ensuring fairness and a level playing, SIC, which is the series promoter and organiser, has set a strict criterium for only children that are new to the sports and without any international karting experience to register, which will close on June 2.
“Registrations are to be done online at SIC’s official website www.sepangcircuit.com. We will have our team personnel to check and verify on applicants’ background in exercising this criterium as we are looking for fresh talents,” says SIC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Razlan Razali, who is force behind the SIC Talent Development Programme.
Opened only for Malaysian IC holders, selected candidates will be called for a special shoot out session for trials, which is scheduled on June 22 and 23 at Sepang International Kart Circuit.
Karts will be provided for the tests, and participants will need to bring their own racing suit, racing boots, racing gloves and helmets to attend the selection where 10 young karters will be be competing in the second edition of the SIC X30 Rookies Cup.
They will be joined by five graduates from the maiden group – Ahmad Mikael Ahmad Shareza, Nurul Auni Nasharuddin, Sophia Zara Mustaffa Kamal, Hendra Ade Putra Priyanto and Adam Harris Jeffry, whom finished the championship outside the Top 5 in Rookies Cup 2018.
The Top 5 finishers from the inaugural champion Putera Hani Imran Halim, Putera Haikal Hakeem Halim, Aldrin Jiacheng Foo Cabiles, Putera Alex Qiefli Esam and Raja Ariff Raja Azmi were promoted to compete in the Cadet category in the IAME Series Asia 2019.
The three-round Rookies Cup, which is run together with the three rounds of the SIC IAME Series Asia, opens in Sepang International Kart Circuit on 6th and 7th July 2019 before proceeding in Langkawi for its second round on 3rd and 4th August. The final round will be held on 14th and 15th September at Sepang International Kart Circuit.
