After joining PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team last year, Scandinavian safety footwear specialist Monitor will continue as an Official Partner of the Malaysian squad for the 2021 season, where the six riders will be hoping to put their best foot forward to maintain or surpass the success achieved last year.
The Monitor logo will feature on the front fairing of the team’s six bikes, with PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team in MotoGP (Franco Morbidelli and Valentino Rossi) and PETRONAS Sprinta Racing in Moto2 (Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon) and Moto3 (John McPhee and Darryn Binder), as well as on the arms of the riders’ leathers. In addition to this, the crew will also be able to benefit from and appreciate Monitor’s footwear with their own Official Monitor-PETRONAS SRT model.
Monitor shoes are a new generation of safety footwear, based on technical hiking boots. Considerable experience and an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the foot, combined with the latest footwear manufacturing technology, is what forms the basis for the safety footwear of the future.
Razlan Razali, Team Principal
I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Monitor for continuing as an Official Partner of PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team this season. They were a new Partner who joined us at the start of a very different season in 2020, yet they have remained positive and dynamic during the pandemic. Monitor has truly embraced the team ethos and we look forward to showcasing their shoes on track over the season ahead. We have achieved a lot together in all three classes in 2020 and we’re excited to go even further this season, to see what accomplishments we can make together in 2021.
Robin Hansson, Marketing, Monitor
We knew that our target market has a great interest in motorsports, so partnering PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team was a natural step in our European venture and a great way to increase our brand awareness. We saw great results together in 2020, so it was a natural conclusion to develop and grow this relationship as the team develops and matures. We have been able to test our footwear in a new environment and gain valuable feedback from the team members. MotoGP is a hugely popular sport, so we expect to reach many new fans in 2021. We are in full support of PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team for their championship campaigns ahead and we can’t wait to see what this season brings!
