It’s already a record-breaking season in terms of different winners in an incredible Moto3™ season, but 10 victors from 13 races indicates just how tightly contested the lightweight class is. And there are plenty of other potential race winners, so it won’t come as any sort of surprise to see that number rise. Two of those, rookie Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia) and Andrea Migno (WWR) crashed out of the battle for P1 on the last lap at Misano.

In terms of the Championship standings, Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) was able to extend his lead over Aron Canet (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) after the Spaniard suffered cruel luck, his KTM suffering an issue while Canet was in the battle for the lead. 22 points are the difference heading to MotorLand Aragon this weekend and while the duo have been the standout riders this season – arguably alongside Tony Arbolino (VNE Snipers) – Dalla Porta has just one win to his name, that coming at the Sachsenring, with Canet scoring two victories in America and the Czech Republic.

It’s the pair’s consistency that has seen them climb to the top two positions in the Championship, with third place Arbolino claiming two wins so far – Mugello and Assen – as the Italian sits just eight points adrift of Canet. Fourth in the Championship Marcos Ramirez (Leopard Racing) is another to have tallied two wins, those coming in Barcelona and Silverstone, with Niccolo Antonelli (SIC58 Squadra Corse) picking up one win at Jerez.
