Amidst the evolving demands of the mobility ecosystem amid growing environmental, technological, and economic shifts, Michelin Malaysia officially announces the launch of two breakthrough tyre ranges: MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy, the triple-A tyre with the longest life in its segment[1]; and MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 energy, the double-A tyre inspired by motorsport heritage and engineered for a new era of energy-efficient performance. Both ranges are designed to fit all vehicle types.
Florentin Odenwald, Managing Director of Michelin Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei stated: “These new tyre ranges deliver energy efficiency across all applications while maintaining sustainable performance from the first to the last mile, reinforcing Michelin’s commitment to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mobility.”
“The Malaysian automotive landscape is changing rapidly, with EV adoption accelerating, SUVs dominating the roads, and drivers expecting more from every component of their vehicle. The tyre ranges from Michelin are our direct response to that shift. With the MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy and MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 energy, we are ensuring that as the market evolves, Malaysian drivers are not left behind”, added Florentin.
MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy: the Triple-A Tyre with the Longest Life in Its Segment1
As Michelin’s first AAA1 premium tyre line, MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy excels across the board, achieving the highest European A-label rating for external noise[2], wet grip[3], and rolling resistance[4]. It also delivers with exceptional longevity[5] that translates into more mileage for both fuel and electric vehicles.
The MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy offers a number of advanced benefits:
- Quiet and More Comfortable Ride, thanks to MICHELIN Silent Rib Gen-3 and MICHELIN Piano Acoustic Tuning that minimize the noise generated on both new and worn tyres.
- Long-Lasting Safety with improved wet braking performance both when new and worn, supported by MICHELIN MaxTouch that maximizes contact with the road and evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering to extend tread life, without compromising safety.
- Refuel and Recharge Less, through optimized energy efficiency enabled by MICHELIN Slim Belt, featuring thinner top belts with less raw materials at equivalent strength that improves fuel consumption or battery range for electrical vehicles; combined with the high-performance MICHELIN Energy Passive 2.0 compound that ensure excellent longevity.
The MICHELIN Primacy 5 energy will be available in 19 sizes for 18- to 21-inch wheels, with retail prices ranging from RM614 to RM1,624 at all Michelin’s authorized tyre dealers nationwide.
MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 energy: the Responsible Performance Tyre that Combines Sportiness with Energy Efficiency
Born from its motorsport legacy and engineered for a new era of energy-efficient performance, the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 energy is Michelin’s first sport tyre with double European A-label rating for wet grip and rolling resistance. It delivers dynamic handling and enhanced driving pleasure while reducing energy consumption, redefining what responsible performance means for modern vehicles.
The MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 energy offers a range of advanced benefits:
- Performance Driving, with MICHELIN Dynamic Response that ensures optimum transmission of steering control onto the road, and MICHELIN Piano Acoustic that minimize the noise generated on both new and worn tyres, for a quieter drive.
- Be Safe for Longer[6], with MICHELIN MaxTouch that maximizes contact with the road and evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering to extend tread life, without compromising safety.
- Built to Go the Extra Mile[7] with Less Refuel and Recharge[8], through optimized energy efficiency enabled by MICHELIN Slim Belt that improves fuel consumption or battery range for electrical vehicles; complemented by MICHELIN Bi-Compound, featuring MICHELIN Grip Adaptive compound in the center for superior grip on dry and wet roads, and MICHELIN Energy Passive compound on tread shoulders to reduce energy consumption for longer ranges or better fuel economy.
Featured across both new premium tyre ranges is the 360-degree application of the MICHELIN Premium Touch technology, covering the entire sidewall circumference to create an exceptionally luxurious visual effect. Thanks to Michelin’s exclusive and patented technology, a velvet-effect microtexture reveals a refined matte black finish, perfectly harmonizing with the elegance of the vehicles on which the tyres are fitted.
The MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 Energy will be available in 17 sizes for 18- to 21-inch wheels, with retail prices ranging from RM930 to RM2,006 at all Michelin’s authorized tyre dealers nationwide.
