MG Motor Malaysia Reveals the All-New MGS5 EV.

MG Motor Malaysia today hosted an exclusive preview of the all-new MGS5 EV and announced its estimated price from RM115,000. This B-segment electric SUV marks a new generation of versatile and accessible EVs, offering rapid charging capabilities, generous cabin space, intelligent driver assistance features, engaging rear-wheel drive dynamics, and a comprehensive suite of safety features all as standard.

It sets the standard for what drivers can expect from our brand, with best-in-class driving dynamics for this segment. Following its global debut in China last October, the MGS5 EV is purpose-built for Malaysian roads and marks a significant step forward in our electric journey,” said Emory Qifeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia.

MGS5 EV Best-In-Class Driving Dynamics

The MGS5 EV is engineered to deliver the best handling in its segment, offering a dynamic and engaging driving experience. It comes with two battery options — a 49kWh unit paired with a 125kW motor delivering 170PS, 250Nm, and up to 340km (WLTP) range, or a 62.2kWh pack offering up to 430km range and 150kW DC fast charging. Both variants offer remarkable rear-wheel drive (RWD) dynamics for a responsive and rewarding drive.

In addition to its outstanding handling, both variants are equipped with 6.6kW AC charging, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8’’ Central Control Screen with Voice Control, a 10.25’’ Instrument Cluster, and a comprehensive safety suite including 7 airbags and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

For those seeking a more premium touch, the MGS5 EV with the 62kWh battery is also available with enhanced comfort and convenience features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, leather and fabric combination seats with MG perforated pattern, a heated leather steering wheel, power-adjustable driver’s seat, 6 premium audio speakers, rear reading lamps, rain-sensing wipers and a 360-degree surround view camera.

The MGS5 EV is available in five colour options Arctic White, Monument Silver, Camden Grey, Dynamic Red, and Elegant Latte[1] with a dark interior leather and fabric combination seat.
