MANDALIKA, INDONESIA: Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider Luca Marini snatches the fastest lap time on the second day of the MotoGP Mandalika Test, clocking in at 1:31:289 leaving in his wake, the eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez of the Repsol Honda Team.
Marc Marquez trailed a mere 0.192 seconds at 1:31:841 behind Luca as most of the riders managed to set a time of 1:31s today despite having less than favourable track conditions as rain clouds loomed at the vicinity of the circuit.
The order of the top five continues with Maverick Vinales from Aprilia Racing down 0.227 seconds behind Marquez followed by Fabio Quartararo in fourth with a 1:31:564 and Joan Mir of Team SUZUKI ECSTAR in fifth at 1:31:586.
Most of the riders improved their overall lap times with the top five riders even coming close to less than a tenth of a second of each other during day two of the tests as more action lit up the Mandalika Street Circuit in the final hours of today’s session.
With one day left for the team and riders to test out their machines and gain valuable test data at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, plenty of surprises await for the final day of tests before they move on to the season opener in Qatar.
