GT ASia Series – Team Aylezo
Aylezo Competizione is looking forward to the Chinese weather for the GT Asia Series scheduled during the World Touring Car Championship weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit this 25-27 September weekend.
Both Zen Low and Fairuz Fauzy are looking forward to another race outing with Aylezo, who are technical partners to OD Racing. The Lamborghini Gallardo FLII did suffer from some slight issues prior to the Series’ first 3-hour endurance race in Sepang but the Aylezo crew expertly managed to rectify the situation before the race, allowing OD Racing to finish the gruelling race in eighth.
After a hot outing in Sepang just two weeks ago, the crew is looking forward to the cooler temperatures at Shanghai International Circuit.
“Getting away from the haze will be a blessing for all of us that are based here in Malaysia and the slightly cooler temperatures is a great change from Sepang’s intensity” said Cheah Lai Sun, Team Manager. “We did however get the news from the organisers that the containers will be slightly delayed, so the wait has been a little bit inconvenient but we will just have to work a bit faster”.
Barely one week after being discharged from the hospital for dengue, Zen is back on his feet and aims to put on a good outing for Aylezo. “I know the doctors advised me to take it easy but I cannot let the team, sponsors and fans down. I get tired faster but I am sure I will be able to handle the weekend okay. Plus, everyone is great and helping to make sure I am much better and that I rest in between, so I will give it all I can for the two races this weekend”.
Meanwhile Fairuz has kept himself busy spending time with his family since he will be away during another Holy celebration. “It’s always hard to be away from my family but this is the nature of what we do and they understand and support me. My family is my rock!”
Qualifying is scheduled to be held on Friday, 25 September 2015 at 14:20 (local time). The 50-minute Round 8 race is scheduled for Saturday, 26 September at 12:00 whilst the one hour Round 9 race is scheduled for Sunday, 27 September at 16:45.
