Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), yesterday announced the official launch of its third flagship 4S centre, Kawasaki Kuching, in Kuching, Sarawak.
Kawasaki Kuching, under the ownership and management of GHEE HUA CO SDN BHD, is the third expansion of EMOS’s All-Star Dealer Showrooms, presenting an extensive selection of KAWASAKI motorcycle models.
This milestone holds special significance as Kawasaki Kuching becomes the first All-Star Dealer in East Malaysia, bringing the strategic partnership between Ghee Hua and EMOS as well as MODENAS to the next level. The outlet was launched by Law Kin Hin, Director of Kawasaki Kuching and Ghee Hua Group, and Roslan Roskan, Chief Executive Officer of MODENAS. The event was witnessed by YB Dato Sri Abd Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak.
The event was witnessed by around 700 people and featured exciting activities such as a motor show. The launch experience included various Sarawakian cultural activities like bertandak bermukun and kompang performances. The event was also attended by club members, who contributed to cooking local Sarawakian dishes, creating a memorable and culturally rich celebration.
Ghee Hua was established in 1968 when it began selling bicycles and later expanded into motorcycles in 1970. The company’s association with the Kawasaki brand dates back to 2021 when EMOS became the official distributor of Kawasaki products. Ghee Hua’s commitment to the brand is recognised as it was among the first 10 dealers appointed as official Kawasaki All-Star Dealers. It currently holds the exclusive designation in East Malaysia.
Prior to becoming a Kawasaki All-Star Dealer, Ghee Hua had been a trusted partner with MODENAS since August 2000, emerging as one of MODENAS’ longest and most significant authorised dealers in the Kuching region. The 24-year relationship has played a pivotal role in promoting MODENAS’ business and products.
With the establishment of Kawasaki Kuching, EMOS envisions a vibrant market for both Kawasaki and MODENAS motorbikes and scooters in Sabah and Sarawak. The company aims to complete 10 Kawasaki 4S centre launches in 2024 and appoint 5 additional All-Star Dealers within the same year.
KAWASAKI All Star flagship 4S centres adhere to the design and construction standards of Kawasaki Plazas in Japan, prioritising product display and visual merchandising.
