Ducati’s 2022 Malaysia Premiered yesterday putting forward 6 new and exciting models for the year, introduced an all-new Ducati Corse Credit facility for the purchase of new Ducati motorcycles, and announced the setting-up of 2 more exclusive Ducati Centres in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

The three announcements form the foundation of an aggressive expansion program laid out by Ducati Malaysia and Next Bike Sdn Bhd, as the sole importer and distributor for the Ducati brand in Malaysia, to reaffirm its position as the most desirable premium motorcycle brand in the market.

Unveiling an exciting and diverse line-up of 6 new models, motorcycle enthusiasts have a choice from a trio of V2-powered machines in the naked Streetfighter V2; the adventure touring Multistrada V2S; and the Panigale V2 Bayliss (1st Championship 20th Anniversary model) sports bike; to the flagship Streetfighter V4 SP naked motorcycle that boasts the best power to weight ratio and the most powerful bike in its segment; and the sporty modern classic appeal of the Scrambler Urban Motard and Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro.

“Ducati Malaysia could not be in a stronger position than it is today, and the launch of these 6 new motorcycles this evening underlines the company’s continued commitment and the passion we have in the brand in striving to position it as the most desirable premium motorcycle in the market,” said Ducati Malaysia and Next Bike Sdn Bhd Head of Company Dennis Michael.

“Ducati ownership extends beyond motorcycling in its purest form, and today, the Ducati experience epitomizes not only performance and riding excitement but it has also evolved to greatly influence and shape lifestyles.”

The launch of Ducati Corse Credit Michael emphasized, will extend greater options, accessibility and convenience to customers by providing an in-house financing facility for the purchase of all new Ducati motorcycles. This will complement existing credit facilities already made available to customers by various partner financial institutions.

The setting-up of 2 new exclusive Ducati Centres in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru meanwhile, will strengthen Ducati Malaysia’s existing network which includes facilities in Sungai Buloh and Penang, as well as the largest certified 3S centre and the second largest Ducati showroom in Southeast Asia in Petaling Jaya. Its centre in Sungai Buloh is also currently undergoing renovation which is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

Also present at the Ducati 2022 Malaysia Premiere were Dato’ Nik Hamdam Nik Hassan, the Group Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings, and Ducati Asia Pacific’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing Mr Marco Biondi.

“Malaysia is one of the top ranking countries for Ducati in the Asia Pacific region and I believe with the resources, commitment and determination Ducati Malaysia has committed to over the years, the brand will thrive as will this long term partnership grow even stronger,” said Biondi.

“In this business, especially for us at Ducati, passion is very important. It is important because it will enable customers to better understand and appreciate our brand values, our heritage, what we represent and the products we introduce.

“Passion is also a very important criterion that goes into selecting the partners that we work with and our representatives globally…The team at Ducati Malaysia and Next Bike is not only invested commercially but more importantly, emotionally, in the brand and this is precisely what fuels growth.”

Against the backdrop of a worldwide pandemic, Ducati sold a record 59,447 motorcycles worldwide in 2021, and in the 1st quarter of 2022, has already posted a 5% increase in sales compared to the corresponding period in 2021 as well as surpassing its achievements in 2020 by 40%.

“Passion as I have earlier mentioned, has been the single most important component of this success and exponential growth.”

This performance, the roll out of models that are globally acclaimed and highly sought after for its riding superiority and enjoyment, together with rising demand as motorcycling evolves to define lifestyles, have been instrumental in also propelling Ducati’s growth and presence in Malaysia.
