Continental Tyres unveils the UltraContact UX7, the SUV-dedicated tyre designed to meet the practical demands of urban SUV drivers.

SUVs are heavier and have a higher center of gravity compared to passenger cars, requiring the tyres to be built for better overall vehicle control and stability. As a result, SUV tyres have a more robust construction to withstand the daily wear and tear across different road conditions and terrains.

The UltraContact UX7 is specifically developed and optimized with the SUV drivers’ needs in mind, with an emphasis on safety, durability and a quieter drive. From navigating busy city streets to venturing on countryside roads, the new UltraContact UX7 is empowered by SUV Confidence+ Technology. The technology delivers on three aspects – safety, durability, and noise comfort.

Extra Safety for Spontaneity and Boldness

Especially at high speeds, tyres are required to work harder to counteract the different directional forces during acceleration, braking and cornering. This is even more critical with the SUV vehicles’ heavier weight and higher center of gravity.

The UltraContact UX7’s X-Force Macroblocks maximizes contact area with the road to create a wider footprint for better handling and stability, even around corners, uneven road surfaces or gravel. The Adaptive Diamond Compound incorporates a special formula with silica that enhances the transformation of kinetic energy into heat at optimum levels, resulting in shorter braking distances on both wet and dry roads. The Aqua Channel feature also quickly drains water through a unique tube system into the tread grooves, accelerating water evacuation.

Extra Durability for a Longer Drive

Even though the modern SUV driver travels mainly within the city, there is still a demand for tyres that can embrace the occasional spontaneous weekend trip to “Chase the Extraordinary”, taking SUVs on dirt paths and countryside trails.

The UltraContact UX7’s Robust360 Construction[2] includes a reinforced steel belt that strengthen the tyres to absorb shocks from the road, enhancing shape retention and direction stability; a sturdier carcass design to reduce the risk of tire damage; and polymer chains of Diamond Compound that form a rigidly interlocked network, improving the tire’s wear performance to avoid cut and chip damage. This enables enhanced durability and a longer use life to better withstand the heavier weight and load of an SUV throughout various city life conditions, including the occasional gravel or dirt path.

Urban driving demands quieter rides, especially as more electric SUVs hit the road, and the absence of engine noise makes tire noise more noticeable.

The UX7’s precision-cut tread design optimizes noise reduction performance by minimizing vibrations. Its Noisebreaker 3.0 breaks up sound waves to prevent noise from building up and travelling into the car cabin for a more pleasant journey.

The UltraContact UX7 is available for purchase from Q2 of 2025 and is available in a wide range of sizes from 15” to 22” to fit crossovers, mid-sized SUVs and premium SUVs. It is available at Continental branded outlets and the official Continental store on Shopee, TnG or Lazada.
