At Belgium’s Spa Francorchamps circuit, Malaysia’s Viper Niza Racing Team secured 4th in the #GT3-AM Class and 7th overall in Round 2 of the Michelin 24H Series. The result lifts them to joint 1st in the GT3-AM standings (56 points) alongside Hofor Racing and HAAS RT, keeping them firmly in the championship fight with three rounds remaining.

Driven by Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang, and Aaron Lim in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, the team staged a strong comeback from 15th on the grid. They climbed steadily through the field, reaching as high as 6th overall before finishing 7th after 239 laps, missing the class podium by just two laps.

Despite falling short of a third consecutive podium at Spa, the team delivered a clean and competitive performance in a field dominated by McLaren, Audi, and Porsche entries. With valuable points secured and consistent pace shown across both race segments, Viper Niza Racing remains well-positioned as the championship heads into its final three rounds.

Season 9 of the Toyota GAZOO Racing Vios Challenge

Season 9 of the Toyota GAZOO Racing Vios Challenge kicked off on 17–19 April at Sepang, marking its 9th consecutive year since 2017 and reinforcing its status as a long-running manufacturer-based saloon car race series.

A total of 51 drivers are competing across four classes: Super Sporting (professionals), Sporting (amateurs), Rookie (young drivers), and Classic Challenge (older Vios race cars).

In the Super Sporting Class:

Race 1 saw Ady Rahimy win from pole, with Freddie Ang finishing 2nd and Nabil Azlan 3rd.

Race 2 was won by Freddie Ang, who surged from 5th place to lead early and secured victory despite heavy rain ending the race under a safety car.

In the Sporting Class, Race 1 delivered intense action, with multiple lead changes before Adam Mikail claimed a standout win in wet conditions.

Wing Hin Motorsports Looks To Japan To Expand Its Driver Development Program

“This is a strong result to kickstart the season but the development process continues and both drivers acknowledge that the challenges ahead will get tougher.”

Wing Hin Motorsports’ Driver Development Program received a huge boost when two of its drivers finished the opening round of the Japanese Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Clubman Series in 2nd and 6th positions at Autopolis Circuit.

Malaysia’s Mitchell Cheah got off to a dream start in his racing debut in Japan when he powered the Wing Hin Motorsports GR86 to a hard-fought 2nd place.

The 2026 Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup will be run over seven rounds. From the season-opener at Autopolis, the Series moves to Round 2 from 16-17 May at Sportsland Sugo, followed by Round 3 from 27-28 June at Okayama International Circuit; and Round 4 from 8-9 August at the Tokachi Speedway. Round 5 will be held at Fuji Speedway from 5-6 September, followed by Round 6 from 3-4 October at Suzuka Circuit before the 7th and final round at Mobility Resort Montegi from 21-22 November.
