Boon Siew Honda announced full model change for the X-ADV.

First launched in 2018 in Malaysia, Honda X-ADV has captured the essence of two-wheeled freedom in an exciting new form and garnered attention across the nation. Boon Siew Honda introduces the new X-ADV to the Malaysian riders, with added offering of improved engine performance, trimming weight and enhancing style.

The X-ADV embodies the essence of modern adventure with its perfect fusion of technology and design. Built with a 745cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC 8-valve parallel 2-cylinder engine with 6-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), it improves its peak power by +3kW to 43kW @6,750rpm and improves its peak torque by +1Nm to 69Nm @4,750rpm. A newly designed diamond type frame lead to more than 1kg weight reduction.

Shorter ratios for first, second and third gears allow smarter acceleration, while taller fourth, fifth and sixth ratios allow relaxed higher speed cruising and excellent fuel economy.

Throttle By Wire (TBW) brings with it adjustable engine character through 4 default riding modes: STANDARD, SPORT, RAIN and GRAVEL plus a customisable USER mode. It also allows even smoother operation of the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system, which now features 3 levels of intervention. The Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) features Automatic shifting schedules that link with the riding modes.

Incorporated into the X-ADV’s rider interface and viewed through the new 5-inch TFT display is the new Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS*1,*2). It links the rider to their smartphone while on the move and allows voice management of phone calls, email, music and navigation. A helmet-mounted headset is needed and the smartphone connects to the dash via Bluetooth; management of the system is also possible through buttons on the left switchgear.

The X-ADV’s unique head-turning styling has been sharpened and slimmed comprehensively for 2021 model. The silhouette remains upright, but each body-panel has been re-chiselled to create a sharper, stronger intent. This sharper and aggressive edge to the X-ADV is strengthened with twin LED headlights which comes with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) that automatically adjust to ambient light intensity and give a bright light improving safety.

Practicality and convenience is also elevated, with increased weather protection from a new screen, a new 1.2L glovebox, and a bigger (22 litre) under seat storage compartment which now houses a USB charging port. The X-ADV also uses a Smart Key, which does away with the need to use a key for ignition, fuel cap and seat. A centre stand – with tilt sensor – is fitted as standard and allows the X-ADV to be parked on an incline without fear of toppling.

The innovative motorcycle also includes other premium features like improved front and rear disk brake, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), 41mm cartridge-style upside-down front fork, Pro- link Swingarm and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). These features allow riders to have a safe and convenient journey on the road.

The 2021 Honda X-ADV is available in three colours – Pearl Deep Mud Gray, Grand Prix Red, and Graphite Black.
