BMW Motorrad Malaysia today introduced the New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” – paying tribute to the model’s 40 years of premium riding enjoyment on every terrain.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” arrives complete with the Comfort, Touring, Dynamic and Active packages as standard, which features an extensive range of equipment for the ultimate touring motorcycle.

The new midsized GS variant is also equipped with a new tape design and the “40 Years GS” designations on its fairing side panel. The striking design and colour elements on the new premium motorcycle makes the model a true eye-catcher while upholding its place in the rich 40-year history of the GS models from BMW.

The front view of the new variant is crafted to suit the dynamic streamline silhouette for further agility and includes a striking yellow handguard that offers stylish protection on the road.

The LED headlight of the New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” features Daytime Riding Light as standard, complemented with LED flashing turn indicators. The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” is also introduced with optional features that have now been made standard including gold-anodized rims and a main stand.

Black fixed fork tubes and a galvanised radiator cowl are further hallmarks of this anniversary edition. Towards the rear, the new variant is now fitted with luggage racks and a seat bench in black/yellow with the GS logo – ensuring a high level of recognition on the road.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” will be exclusively available in the striking Black Storm Metallic exterior colour offering with yellow design elements and will only be available in 2021 with limited units in transit.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” retains its impressive liquid-cooled 4-valve, 2-cylinder engine with fuel injection that ensures powerful propulsion via a stunning 853 cc capacity and six-speed gearbox. The new variant’s maximum output achieves 70 kW / 95 hp at 8,250 rpm, along with a peak torque of 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The two counterbalance shafts in the new variant also delights with its smoothness, spontaneous response characteristics, impressive pulling power and low fuel consumption.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS” Edition is also equipped with the latest generation of Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and the Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) for an unparalleled riding performance around corners and across multiple terrain.

Riding Modes Pro equips the new variant with the Dynamic Engine Brake Control and Shift Assistant Pro, as well as four riding modes that can be accessed via the right handlebar controls. Enhancing safety when braking in banking position, the ABS Pro provides a fortified degree of performance and safety for complete riding pleasure.

The time-tested instrument panel of the New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” displays an extended range of information on a large 6.5-inch TFT screen, excellent for optimum visibility even in difficult lighting conditions.

The Connectivity function is also available as standard to the New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition”. As motorcycle enthusiasts in Malaysia enjoy long distance riding on their GS, touring assistance is offered on the New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” via Cruise Control and navigation preparation for GPS devices for increased riding pleasure.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” also arrives with the Keyless Ride feature, along with the tyre pressure monitoring system (RDC) as standard – elevating the level of convenience and safety for riders of the iconic touring motorcycle.

The New BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” will be available at all authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide starting from 10^th February 2021.
