BMW Motorrad Malaysia unveils the 100 Years Edition of the iconic BMW R 18.

BMW Motorrad Malaysia yesterday presented the New BMW R 18 100 Years, limited to only 1,923 units worldwide – a tribute to the founding year of BMW Motorrad when the first BMW motorcycle was presented to the world. Only ten exclusive units have been made available for customers and fans of the brand in Malaysia.

The 100 Years Edition is a testament to the modern-classic construction of the BMW R 18, embellished with heritage-centric features that gives the cruiser an unmistakable appearance. The BMW R 18 is also further enhanced with classic design elements dating back to the late 1920s, where the combination of chrome surfaces and high-quality paint concepts make a truly distinguishable ride for the asphalt and beyond.

The radiant, mirror-like shine of the high-grade Classic Chrome surface concept defines the New BMW R 18 100 Years, as it combines black paintwork and high-gloss chrome surfaces with white double pinstriping and embellished with a 100 Years badge. Classic Chrome accents are also found on the rear wheel cover in combination with white double pinstriping. The front wheel cover and the side covers are painted in black, complemented by white double pinstriping on the front mudguard. The Option 719 seat upholstered in the bicolour combination black/oxblood with high-quality diamond embossing blends in harmoniously as well.

The New BMW R 18 100 Years is further complemented by numerous chrome parts offered by the Chrome design option that can be seen on the handlebar fittings, gearshift and foot brake levers, handlebar clamps, handlebar weights, mirrors, brake master cylinders, brake calipers, engine casing covers, cylinder head covers and intake manifold trims. The high-quality and durable galvanic surface coating is also seen on the Akrapovič rear silencers with perforated tailpipe trims in the “propeller style” of the BMW logo.

Other notable equipment for the New BMW R 18 100 Years is a new speedometer with multifunctional display, along with a full LED headlight, LED rear and brake lights with rear indicators included, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), the three convenient riding modes (Rock, Roll, Rain) as well as the Keyless Ride feature. Optional equipment that are now standard include Adaptive Headlight, heated grips, Hill Start Control (HSC), Cruise Control, reverse gear, a lockable filler cap, along with powertrain black and floorboards.
