The 3rd and final round of Asian Le Mans Sprint cup held in Sepang international circuit saw 9 entries, that include 6 LMP 3, 2 GT Cup and 1 CN class. In the LMP 3 class, there are 2 Ligier JSP3, 2 ADESS 03 and 2 Ginetta LMP3. While the GT Cup have 1 Lotus Evora GTC and 1 Porsche GT3 Cup and finally the CN class entry is a Ligier JS 53.
During qualifying today, DC Racing from China in their Ligier JSP3 dominated the session with a time of 2:01.464 in Sepang’s 5.543 KM circuit placing them in pole position for tomorrow Race 1. Sharing the front row with them on 2nd position is Team Nexus Infinity in a ADESS 03. 3rd position goes to Team Wineurasia from Hong Kong, 4th goes to local outfit Team Aylezo who is actually shaking down their Ginetta in preparation for the first round of the Asian Le Mans Series that is going to be held in Zhuhai at the end of October. In 3rd row, we have PS Racing in the other ADESS 03 together with 6th position PRT Racing from the Philippines. The sole CN class entry (PS Racing) qualified in 7th while the GT Cup class is lead by Team Lotus Hong Kong which came in 8th ahead of Team NZ in their Porsche GT3.
Qualifying 2 saw the position changes with PRT Racing of the Philippines in their Ginetta setting pole for tomorrow race 2 with a time of 2:00.631. 2nd position went to DC Racing and 3rd position went to Wineurasia. Maintaining 4th is Team Aylezo from Malaysia, 5th position goes to Team Nexus Infinity and while PS Racing took 6th place. The other PS Racing team in CN class also maintained its 7th position while GTCup Team Lotus hangs on to its 8th spot. It was however an unfortunate qualifying session 2 for Team NZ that did not start.
