GWM Malaysia Marks First CKD Export of GWM WEY G9 to Thailand

GWM Malaysia yesterday marked another significant achievement in its ASEAN growth journey with the first CKD shipment of the GWM WEY G9 to Thailand, signaling a strengthened commitment toward regional collaboration, expanded New Energy Vehicle (NEV) capabilities, and cross-border industrial development.

This shipment follows the successful roll out of the first locally assembled GWM WEY G9 in Malaysia and represents the next strategic phase in GWM’s ambition to build a robust regional supply chain and manufacturing ecosystem within ASEAN.

The commencement of CKD exports to Thailand highlights GWM’s confidence in Malaysia’s ability to support high-value automotive assembly, technology transfer and future export scalability. The landmark shipment was witnessed by GWM Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mr. Cui Anqi and Chief Operating Officer, En. Roslan Abdullah.
