Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is thrilled to announce the 2023 Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) provisional calendar, which will feature 4 rounds, with 7 races in total.
The season opener, Round 1, is scheduled to kick off on 5–7 May 2023, followed by Round 2 on 23–25 June 2023, Round 3 on 25–27 August 2023, and the season finale, Round 4 on 22–
24 September 2023.
MCS will continue to feature four categories, including Touring Production (TP) for modified production and turbo cars up to 2000cc, Malaysia Touring Car (MTC) for the modified class of cars with engines up to 1600cc, Stock Production 1 (SP1) for cars up to 2000cc, and Stock Production 2 (SP2) for cars with engines below 1600cc.
The first round will also feature the TGR Vios Sprint Cup, Caterham/Asia Classic Car Challenge, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia as support races.
Chief Executive Officer of SIC, Azhan Shafriman Hanif said, “MCS is one of the longest-running national championship held at SIC, since its inauguration in 2002 as Malaysia Super Series (MSS) and rebranded to Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) in 2015, with the primary objective to garner interest in car racing and to unearth talented youths in motorsports.”
