3 New Models from CMC Motorcycles by Chear Global

Chear Global Sdn Bhd, the principal distributor of CMC Motorcycles in Malaysia launched 3 new models to the Malaysian market on the 16^th February 2019. The CMC Italjet Valentine 125, the CMC Daytona Café Racer 250 and the CMC Daytona 250 chopper.

The Italjet Valentine 125 looks set to be the favorite with a striking resemblance to the Vespa GTS. Expected to sell around 2500 units and with a price tag of RM8,817.00, this Valentine will definitely break a lot of Vespa GTS owners’ heart.

The Daytona 250 chopper selling at RM17, 506.00 is a steal. It comes with twin-disc brakes for the front, single disc brake for the rear, upside down fork and a classic tear-drop fuel tank design. However, to shift the gears using the elevated, chopper style gear lever is a pain. I find it very challenging during the short test ride to shift the gears around. Probably because I have small feet. But then not a lot of people have size 12 feet that comes with loads of muscles. Another odd thing is that CMC chooses to feed this chopper via Carburetor rather than a Fuel Injection.

With the motorcycle market hot on Café Racer, it is only sensible for CMC to follow suit with their own Daytona Café Racer. This good-looking 250 Café Racer is selling at RM15,144.00. Beautifully designed fuel tank, classic looking seat, old school telescopic front fork with rubber covers and runs on Carburetor as well. It also has a reserve fuel switch, something which I thought was obsolete by now but definitely great to have. Probably the millennials have no idea what it is for.

Chear Global Sdn Bhd has come up with a strategic sales concept, in that all CMC motorcycles will be promoted and made available to purchase directly online. Through platforms such as their official Facebook, Instagram and website. By cutting down on dealers nationwide, Chear Global is able to pass on the cost cutting directly to their customers. However, this does not mean that after sales service will suffer. Chear Global will be appointing exclusive dealers in major states for online customers to collect their rides as well as servicing and repairs.
